Different government and private entities and individuals have already joined the Oral Hygiene Drive for workers initiated by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, offering different types of support for the beneficiaries of the initiative.

This recently launched humanitarian initiative is aimed at providing dental treatment for low income workers in the emirate of Dubai targeting 2,000 workers in its first stage that will continue till the end of 2015.

The selected workers to participate in the initiative are offered dental care kits, topped up telephone cards and sanitary product kits by DM, Du and Union Coop respectively.

Being a role model in charity for the entire society, the Emirati girl Hind Mohamed Rashid bin Gadeer, donated the total cost of food for all workers who visit Dubai Dental Clinic during the first stage of initiative.

Saif bin Markhan Al Ketbi, Director-General of the Office of the Crown Prince of Dubai, has appreciated all the entities joined the initiative so far, encouraged others to take part in this humanitarian initiative in all ways possible in order to give good care for the basic and most important segment of the society.

"The voluntary response of these significant organisations indicates to the high level of social responsibility and sympathy towards the poor and needy people in our society. I have great hope that organisations and individuals from various sectors of the society will soon realise the significance of the initiative and support our workers to lead a healthy and happy life," Al Ketbi said.

"Those who are interested to participate and support the initiative can directly contact Hamdan Bin Mohamed Dental Collage," he added.

Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality, said, "These compassionate directives from H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum is not a coincidence, but it came as the result of great vision of a benevolent leader who is really concerned about the huge number of workers in Dubai."

"The initiative is also considered as a strong step towards the dream of our leaders to make Dubai one of the happiest cities in the world," Lootah added.

"We are proud to contribute into the initiative since its official announcement. DM has already carried out screening for a big number of its workers to ensure their dental health. We are also prepared to handover the dental care kits for 2000 workers who are being tested and treated in the first stage of initiative," he pointed out.

Fahad Al Hassavi, Deputy CEO, Commercial Affairs at Du, said, "We are greatly delighted to be a part of this unique and humanitarian initiative that in turn mitigates a huge burden of our brothers and sisters from workers category."

Suhail Al Bastaki, the Communication Director of Union Coop, said, "We support this noble initiative through our contribution that includes products to help take precautions to prevent dental problems in the category of workers as we believe that the awareness campaign is the most important part of this initiative."
