With Dubai and in turn Deira playing host to 30 internationally acclaimed street artists, the streets around the Al Ghurair Centre have come alive with colour and talent.

So far 14 different acts have performed 150 shows at the Al Ghurair Centre’s Dub Fest international street theatre and comedy fair, entertaining audiences for free until Saturday, March 29.

Over 200,000 people have descended on Deira for free family fun so far. As Dub Fest now enters its final two days, new acts are still to perform for the final 150 shows.

By the end of it, Dub Fest will have seen international acrobats, musicians and comedians execute 300 performances over the 10 day spectacle. With 200 hours of free entertainment in the heart of Deira, you can still catch the event.

Visitors and spectators still have time to see ex Cirque du Soleil gymnasts such as Reuben Dot Dot Dot from Australia do death-defying routines and Guinness World Record Holders like New Zealand’s Rubberband Boy maintain their title.

Dubai and Dub Fest also welcome the USA Breakdancers, LoL Brothers and 10 other acts to the UAE for the first time. David Thurling, VP of the Al Ghurair Centre says: “Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights typically prove ever popular at the Al Ghurair Centre’s large scale events including StreetCon urban art fest, the Battle of the Bands music competition and now Dub Fest. Whilst Dub Fest is on for 10 days, based on last weekend’s footfall we anticipate in excess of 200,000 visitors this weekend evening”.

Previously known as the Dubai Street Festival, the Al Ghurair Centre has secured the rights to conduct the event for at least the next three years, bringing with it a new name, location and international acts. Al Ghurair Centre is keen to grow Dub Fest into becoming a major annual tourist attraction for Dubai, similar to international events such as the famous Edinburgh Comedy Festival in Scotland.

The Al Ghurair Centre’s Dub Fest is taking place on the inner street of the Al Ghurair Centre and surrounding streets from 4pm to 11pm on weekdays and 2 pm – 11 pm on weekends, until 29thMarch. Nearest Metro: Union Square Metro Station.
