Gone are the days when women tennis players would wear polo shirts and pleated skirts. Today's crop of tennis stars favouring spaghetti strapped vest tops, mesh mini dresses and playsuits.

Some work with luxury fashion designers over sports brands and pushed the boundaries as they turn the court into a catwalk.

Yet, these superstars miss out on parading their fashion nous.

Who wouldn't want to dressed up for a special occasion, do their hair, and pick diamond earring and Jimmy Choo sandals?

So when the world's top female tennis players came together to the BNP Paribas WTA Finals in Singapore the WTA Finals Official Draw Ceremony there were fireworks on display.

Former World Number 1 and current Number 3 going into the WTA Finals, Maria Sharapova was presiding over the fasion fest like the grand dame.

Sharapova is formidable in the fashion scene and the leggy lass was displaying her assets in a tiny floral dress.

Agnieszka Radwanska looked in control in her netted leather dress while Flavia Pennetta was fine with the plunging neckline.

Petra Kvitova looked a far-cry of her aggressive persona in a shimmering back-less little black dress.

It was only Lucie Safarova who decided to go full in a floor-length gown.

Chan Hao-chin and Sania Mirza brought colour to the otherwise monochrome party.

We are not impressed with Sania's dark maroon dress, heavy accessory and dark lip colour. A stylist can do wonders with her.

And where is the newest designer in the block - Serena Williams? The World Number 1 may not be in Singapore but she is not out of the glamour scene.

Serena was not among the fashion divas, but instead has been posing on Instagram in short skirts and high heels... "yes I can play in heels".

These players might have to adhere to a strict dress code when on field but that doesn't mean female players aren't prepared to be daring when it comes to their evening outfits.
