When you watch stunning beauties strut their stuff while on red carpet duty, do you ever wonder how they (all) manage to look picture-perfect, every single time?

Forget the hair and make-up, and the much-talked about designer fluff, they are decked in. Even their bodies appear flawless.

This, we learn, isn’t just about eating right or hitting the gym relentlessly. It, most likely, is the result of how good (or great) their plastic surgeon is.

Yes, you heard it.

There’s a bit of botox and fillers that do the magic on D-day!

Plastic Surgeon and Medical Director of the Alessi Institutes in Beverly Hills, California, Dr Alessi is in Dubai and shares some of those red-carpet secrets with us.

Celebrities, the doc says, do a few tricks to prep up before stepping out in front of the flashbulbs.

Some of these procedures are non-invasive, and the most popular among these are – botox and fillers. Dr Alessi, who has worked a host of Hollywood celebs, adds, “Botox and fillers are a must and are usually done two weeks before, (just) in case there’s any bruising.

“Nearly all do it, even the younger ones.”

There’s also “PRP microneedling, which is popular, and thermage, which can be done the day before or on the day.”

Dr Alessi, however, is under oath and does not wish to reveal the names of his famous clientele.

How UAE likes to do it

The most popular procedure in the UAE, the doc claims are Rhinoplasty (surgery done to perfect the nose) and liposuction (surgery to remove body-fat. “Also mini-lifts and invisible line browlifts are popular as well as breast implants.” In fact, he believes, “SculpSure (the fat zapping body sculpting machine that reduces body fat in a 25-minute session) is fast becoming popular.”

Talking about the cost, the doc adds, “The cost varies widely (in the UAE) depending on the quality of the surgeon. Rhinoplasty ranges from Dh14,000 to Dh52,500. Liposuction is also in the same range. Mini-facelift lifts start at around Dh25,000.”

UAE teens, he adds, prefer ‘Rhinoplasty and breast implants”.

“For fillers Botox, we start to see clients aged around 30 years. There are alot of Saudi nationals, who start procedures in the mid-20s.

“For rejuvenation surgery such as minilifts and eyelid/eyebrow surgery, we see clients aged 40 years and more.”

Dr Alessi said his youngest patient was a five-year-old, “for ear-pinning. When a child has very prominent ears, we try to do them before they go to school and get teased.

“I have patients in the late 80s, who still get botox and fillers.”
