Lulu Group to generate 600 jobs by 2016-end

UAE-based retail major Lulu Group, which has presence in Yemen, India and other Gulf countries also, will generate 600 jobs for Bahrainis by the end of 2016.

This was announced at a ceremony to honour Lulu Group Managing Director Yusuff Ali MA with "Wessam Al Bahrain” – Medal of Bahrain - Order of the King - for his contribution in the kingdom’s economy.

The group currently employs over 1,000 Bahrainis across its hypermarkets and malls in the kingdom.

King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain presented the kingdom’s top honour to Ali for his contribution to the progress of the kingdom at the royal palace in Manama as part of the National Day celebrations. This is the first time in country’s history that a non-Bahraini has been conferred with the medal.

With strong presence in the kingdom, Lulu Group has aligned business plans and economic inputs to reflect the vision of the leadership of Bahrain.

Lulu group runs a chain of hypermarkets in Yemen and India also.

Yusuf Ali is also the Board Member of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

He is also awarded India's top honours - Padma Shri and Pravasi Bhartiya Samman. He topped in Forbes top 100 Indian leaders in the Arab World 2014.
