KBC 7: Amitabh Bachchan set to roll on Friday

Amitabh Bachchan is all set to woo the audience once again with the seventh edition of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ which now plays for higher stakes with a whopping amount of Rs7crore. He talks about his journey so far and his take on the popular games show.

For the first time in the show’s history, KBC 2013 will have a brand new set and design elements adding glamour to this fantastic show.

Additionally, the standard KBC set has given way to a magnificent 360 degree multimedia stage, making India the first ever country to change the ‘Who wants to be a Millionaire’ set worldwide.

Kaun Banega Crorepati is synonymous with big victories and bigger prizes and in a move that will thrill a million hot seat hopefuls, for the first time ever in the history of KBC a whopping jackpot prize of Rs.7 Crores!                                                                                         

In a press conference when Bachchan was asked if he expected ‘KBC’ to run for so long? He replies, “No, not at all. I never expected the show to come up to the seventh edition. The show first ran on Star TV just for three months. Usually for a game show to have a successful run is just impossible. But this show has run for almost 250 episodes which is quite an achievement.”  

KBC 2013 will strengthen its relevance and formula of success by reinforcing the fundamental premise of the continuous process of learning in life.

Keeping up the entertainment quotient of the show as always, will be the iconic host, Mr Amitabh Bachchan with his stylish wardrobe designed by famous fashion designer Rohit Bal.

This season is spread over 13 power packed weekends with special episodes and interesting themes.

The central theme of Kaun Banega Crorepati this year, ‘Seekhna Bandh Toh Jeetna Bandh’ (If one stops learning , one will stops winning) will focus on creating a pan-India aspirational platform of opportunities that will appeal to Indians of all ages, gender and socio-economic groups. 

The opening ceremony will see the talented singer Sonu Nigam belting it out with the hostand bringing the whole house down.

As the launch day approaches show host Amitabh Bachchan is experiencing the jitters.

"Its time for large butterflies as expressed on the Twitter early this morning, to appear in the intestines and the stomach muscles, for, KBC recordings start tomorrow ...," the actor posted on his blog on Monday.


KBC had gone through the rehearsals for the technical and the shoot took off from Monday (August 26).

Crediting the show's immense success to the audience and well-wishers, Amitabh wrote, "13 years on, and we still survive thanks mainly to the affection and patronage of all you that love and wish us unselfishly ..."

He continued, "My very sincere thanks to all those that express their greetings and wishes for the coming of another KBC season .. it has been now 13 years since its historic inception in year 2000 .. and it is your love and appreciation that has kept it alive for so many years .."

Each year KBC introduces new features in the show and fans expect to see something different this year too - maybe the room will swing around!

Amitabh wrote on his Facebook page, "KBC first day of recording .. butterflies and the desire for all to go well .. let us see ... some images of the day first and then as time goes by more shall appear ..

"KBC gets under way in style and material and intensity .. the love of the masses comes through and that brings us cheer..."

The show started in 2000 and Big B has hosted five seasons of the show, except the third edition, which was hosted by actor Shah Rukh Khan.
