The Hollywood stars who lost their looks

Published

John Travolta now and then: The "Grease" (1978) star hasn't exactly maintained his looks the way co-star Olivia Newton-John has. She's still a looker! (AP/GETTY)

As a teen, Lindsay showed lots of promise in movies like "Mean Girls" and "Herbie: Fully Loaded." She was beautiful and talented enough to solidify a name for herself in Hollywood. But over the years her lifestyle choices have come in the way of her once promising career and adorable appearance. Lindsay Lohan looks like she's 25 going on 50 these days. But it hasn't stopped the star's comeback steam, as she recently appeared in Playboy magazine and hosted "Saturday Night Live." (GETTY/GALLO)

Daniel Radcliffe: The 22-year-old has been in the public eye for more than half his life. And although he made a great boy wizard in the "Harry Potter" films, in real life, he's not exactly casting spells on the ladies. In 2000, the young actor was relatively unknown until he was cast as "Harry Potter" and the rest was history. (AP/GETTY)

Matt Lauer: The newscaster was bright-eyed and good looking when he first joined the "Today" Show in 1997. And look at all that hair! (AP)

Tom Hanks: There isn't anyone out there who watched "Big" (1988) and didn't find Tom Hanks completely endearing. Not anyone! (REUTERS)

Cameron Diaz: The blonde bombshell starred in "The Mask," "Charlie's Angels" and "Being John Malkovich" in the late '90s. She was fun and quirky and seemed almost unstoppable. (GETTY/GALLO)

Alec Baldwin: First starring in soap operas in the 1980s, the oldest Baldwin made a name for himself playing dashing doctors and such. (AP)

Ben Affleck Then: The "Good Will Hunting" (1997) star was a hottie for many years but now!!! (AP/GETTY)

Madonna: For a while it appeared as though the 52-year-old mom of four would never get old, but recently it seems as if the clock is starting to catch up with her. (GETTY/GALLO)

Tommy Lee Jones: The Texas native landed his first movie role in 1970 in "Love Story. The 64-year-old has been working a long time ... and his face shows it! Jones is so wrinkly, he gives leather-faced Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards a run for his money. (REUTERS)

Kevin Federline: Britney Spears fell hard for the hard-bodied back up dancer with a chiseled face back in 2004. It looks like Kevin turned to food after his marriage to Britney fizzled. In an attempt to control his ever-growing waistline, the former dancer joined the cast of "Celebrity Fit Club" in early 2010. When the show started he tipped the scale at a whopping 240-lbs. Charlie Sheen: Young Charlie Sheen was on fire in the '80s with movies like "Platoon" (1986) and "Wall Street" (1987). (AP/BANG)

Melanie Griffith: In 1975, the gorgeous blonde caused waves with her starring roles in "Smile," "The Drowning Pool," and "Night Moves." She was only 17. The actress has been in and out of rehab several times to combat her addiction to drugs and alcohol. (AP)

Mickey Rourke: The one-time boxer appeal in his early roles in the 80s and 90s. Critics touted him as the next James Dean. The star of "The Wrestler" is now the poster child for the dangerous cocktail that is multiple fistfights and multiple plastic surgeries. Although given his string of model girlfriends, the ladies don't seem to mind. (AP)

Clay won the second place spot in season two of "American Idol." But his baby boy good looks won him the number one spot in many ladies' hearts. The novelty of his voice and his looks has dwindled. He now sports a much rounder face and longer hair. (REUTERS)

Corbin Bernsen Then: The "L.A. Law" star was quite dreamy in the '80s. The 57-year-old actor has been married to Amanda Pays since 1988. (AP)

Matthew Perry Then: The "Friends" star looked like he was going places after the show's ten year run. He starred in "The Ron Clark Story" (2006) and "17 Again" (2009). But his recent television endeavors, like "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" fell short. (AP/GETTY)

Christina Aguilera: Remember this sweet looking face? (AP/GETTY)

Mel Gibson: Before he was accused of being "abusive" and "racist," Gibson was the cute new guy on the scene, starring in "Mad Max" (1979) and "Lethal Weapon" (1987). Nothing can age you quite like abuse and stress - Gibson knows that all too well. (AP)

Kelly Osbourne: For a while, Ozzy's daughter was shaping up and looking rather cute. She ditched the pink hair for a platinum 'do and seemed to be making all the right fashion choices. (GETTY/GALLO)
