Brown bread, olive bread, spider bread... sorry?

Such was the reaction  a family in Birmingham when they found a dead spider in their loaf of brown bread, metro reported.

Mum Maxine Grizzle bought the loaf of brown bread from a local store and when her 10-year old son Amaarn opened the pack to make a toast, he saw the eight-legged insect sandwiched between two slices. made the discovery when he went to grab a slice of bread for toast, finding the dead arachnid sandwiched between two slices of the loaf.

Amaarn was sick seeing the spider and immediately went green.  ‘It made all my children’s stomachs churn,' Maxine said.

The spider was approximately the same size of a two-pence coin.

Although Hovis, the company that manufactured the bread said it is unlikely that the insect could have been in the loaf during production.

But  Maxine has challenged their take stating that the package was completely sealed at the time of purchase, ruling out the possibility of the creepy-crawly climbing into the bag during transit.

A spokeswoman for Hovis said, ‘We ‘take our product quality and consumer feedback very seriously.’

As soon as they receive  from Mrs Grizzle and as soon as this arrives we will carry out a full investigation and report.’

‘Hovis will conduct a full investigation to identify the facts.
