145 Indian prisoners pardoned

At least 145 Indian prisoners in Dubai and the Northern Emirates have been pardoned during Ramadan, 'Gulf News' reported quoting Indian Consul officials.

No one among the pardoned prisoners were facing life sentences or murder charges, he added.

President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan pardoned six Indian prisoners in Sharjah and seven in Fujairah.

According to the Indian Consulate, there are 567 Indian prisoners in the various jails in Dubai, 249 in Sharjah, 95 in Ajman, 52 in Ras Al Khaimah, 25 in Fujairah and 13 in Umm Al Quwain.

    My humble request to the most respected Rulers of the UAE is to pardon the aged people who are more than seventy years of the age from prisons as well. Kindly pardon them!
