Colombo: A 16-year-old boy impregnated a 15-year-old girl at Dodangoda area in Kalutara.
He has been released on a surety bail of SLR50,000 by Matugama Chief Magistrate Dakshika Chanima Wijebandara after being arrested and produced before her by the Children’s and Women’s Bureau of the Kalutara Police Division, ‘Mawbima’ reported.
The victim has been admitted to the hospital and police said her mother has three children and has separated from her husband.
She was living with another man who also had three children from an earlier marriage.
Police said that the suspect was said to be the elder son of the girl’s mother’s paramour and after investigations, they made arrangements to produce the youth before the court.
Children’s and Women’s Bureau of the Kalutara Police Division is conducting further investigations.
