375 traffic offences in RAK in 3 months

Ras Al Khaimah Police issued 375 tickets to errant drivers in the first three months of this year, as part of the campaign ‘Take the Initiative’.

Major-General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief, RAK Police, said the move aims to implement traffic rules strictly as well as ensure safety of motorists and other road users.

Colonel Ali Saeed Al Alkeem, Director, Traffic and Patrols, Ras Al Khaimah Police, said the campaign will come to a close by end-April.

March saw the most number of fines being issued, with 189 violations recorded, followed by 136 in February and 50 in January.

Col. Alkeem urged the public to inform authorities of any violation they spot.
