The Dubai Police have asked families to watch their children very carefully after a 4-year-old child drowned in the waters off Dubai Marina.
The police, according to Al Bayan, have also asked Marina officials to re-check the barriers they have protecting the water areas.
Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Director General of Dubai Police, CID, said the operations room received a call reporting that a child had fallen into the Marina waters.
Investigations revealed that the child, a GCC national, had slipped through the barrier of an iron fence while the mother was not looking and fell into the water. All attempts to rescue the child were of no avail.
