50 restaurants fined for violating hygiene rules

Fujairah Municipality issued 50 violation and 137 notices to restaurants and food establishments last month for their failure to meet hygiene and municipal standards and repeated violations.

This was the result of inspecting 2,598 foodstuffs and 136 non-food stuffs establishments in Fujairah and its suburbs (Msasfi, Al Aqeer and Al Tawayeen).

The Food Inspection Section at Fujairah Municipality also issued 740 medical cards and 328 medical transfers as well as inspecting 45 foodstuff vehicles and licensing 57 foodstuff vehicles.

It also issued 15 medical certificates and renewed licenses of 224 foodstuff and non-foodstuff shops as well as received 50 complaints from the public in the section.
