Accused blames Devil for groping female colleague

AS, a 31-year-old Egyptian, is accused of molesting an event organiser, who then reported him to the Dubai Police.

When confronted, the man told the police he was deceived by the Devil.

The victim, 26-year-old CJ, in her testimony, said, “I spent the whole day of May 9 with AS, preparing for an event in an exhibition hall. At around 5.30pm, AS asked me to meet with a staff member from the agency. The three of us met for about 15 minutes and AS asked me to accompany him to the hall where he had brought flowers.

“As we were stepping into the hall, all of a sudden he hugged me and tried to kiss me. I told him not to do that and that we are here for work. I was in shock over what he did and my senior noticed it and so I told her,” she testified.

After CJ reached her desk, the accused sent her four flirtatious messages.

The court will reconvene on September 30.
