Amazing weight loss: 280-pounds less, she now runs marathons

This is simply amazing a story of how determination and effort can bear fruits.

Rhonda Martin who weighed 457 pounds could barely walk and even breathing was a chore. This was two years back. Today, not only is she a svelte figure, Martin also boasts taking part in three half-marathons and four sprint triathlons and is training for more, reports yahoo.com.

The 43-year-old had tried everything from weight-loss pills and fad diets without results.

She realised the dangers of not getting her blood pressure under control and so fearful for her life, she undertook a two-year weight loss journey with her 15,000 Facebook followers.

She began by doing away with unhealthy food habits and started taking two protein shakes a day along with other food. She also dedicatedly drank eight glasses of water  every day and used a pedometer to track her steps, which she increased by 100 steps every day.

“Tiny, mini goals kept me focused,” she says.

Once comfortable with walking, Martin started on riding an electric bike and from 457 pounds in February 2012 she reduced to about 180 pounds now - a dramatic 280-pound weight loss!

“I have my life back,” she says.
