Beware before you re-charge your Skype account. Although the Skype website continues to remain unblocked, at least on du servers, users are experiencing difficulties in making calls.

Readers have reported that calls made from your Skype account to a phone are experiencing disrupted, often as soon one says “Hello”. Emirates 24|7 had reported on Tuesday that those connecting to the internet on du lines were able to access the Skype website and even buy credits online for the VOIP service.

While the system continued to remain active today as well, those who purchased credits have been experiencing call disruptions.
“I am able to make PC to PC calls on Skype. But I am unable to use it on my phone and especially when I try and call a landline or a mobile number in India,” says Adil Mohammed.

Meanwhile, Skype which updated its iOS app with cool new features released another one for Windows Phone enabling HD video capabilities and integrating People’s Hub.
The feature allows users to call a contact directly from the contact profile bypassing the Skype app altogether.

Skype had stopped syncing with the Hub – the address book  - since January due to technical issues.

Launching the app on the Windows Phone Store Microsoft says the new added features include “Face-to-face video calls look better than ever with high definition video support. Show your smile or just what’s around you – with front and rear camera support.  Video calls in portrait or landscape, whichever feels best.”

However, a note added that the new feature is just a preview and “some features like call and message notifications when outside the app, are a work-in-progress and may not function consistently.”
