Bollywood pays tribute at Yash Chopra's 'chautha'

Yash Chopra's association with Bollywood goes back a long way. It was evident from the gathering of stars at YRF Studio that he had built from scratch, where his 'chautha' ceremony was held.

The prayer meet was held between 6-7pm at Yash Raj Films studio. It was the same place where his body had been kept for his family and friends to bid goodbye on October 21 and 22 before his funeral.

Yash Chopra left behind his wife Pamela and sons Aditya and Uday when he lost his battle to dengue fever and died after multi-organ failure.

Those who were present at the ceremony included who's who of Bollywood, including Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri, Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya, Aishwarya Rai, Shashi Kapoor came with his son Karan, Karan Johar, Katrina Kaif, Hrithik Roshan, Juhi Chawla, Simi Grewal, Vinod Khanna, Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma, Sridevi and husband Boney Kapoor, Jitendra, and Anupam Kher. Rani Mukerji was also present.

Other Bollywood stars present at the ceremony were Parineeti Chopra, Farah Khan, Sanjay Kapoor, Ashutosh Gowarikar, Soha Ali Khan, Javed Akhtar, Subhash Ghai, Leander Paes with his wife Rhea Pillai, Nagma, Ameesha Patel, Shatrughan Sinha, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Manisha Koirala  and Abbas Mastaan. Gulzar, who has written the lyrics for Jab Tak Hai Jaan also attended the chautha.

JP Dutta, Mukesh Bhatt and popular radio announcer of yesteryears Ameen Sayani also paid their respects.

A big black and white framed picture of the filmmaker was placed on stage and devotional music was being played in the background.

Amitabh, Shah Rukh, Anupam and several other actors spoke about their memories with the fimmaker and shared some anecdotes.
