Bride barred from Grand Mosque

Saudi Police barred an Arab bride from entering the Grand Mosque in the Gulf kingdom after she tried to visit the place, home to Islam’s holiest shrine.

Sada newspaper said guards at the Mosque in the Western town of Makkah stopped the bride and told her she could not go in with her wedding dress.

“She was accompanied with a number of Arab women. She was not allowed to enter the Grand Mosque with her wedding dress,” the paper said without mentioning when the bride was trying to visit the Mosque.

The Grand Mosque (Masjid Al Haram) is the world’s largest mosque and surrounds Islam’s holiest place, the Kaaba.
