Camel prices appear to have maintained their high prices despite fears the desert animal could be associated with the spread of Cornonavirus, with one camel sold recently for SRfive million (Dhfive million), a newspaper reported on Wednesday.

The camel of a rare breed was sold by well known farmer Alian Al Tuhaimi to Fahd Al Turaisi, a prominent camel owner in the oil-rich Gulf Kingdom, Sabq said.

“This breed has maintained its high prices despite what they say they might be associated with Corona,” it said, quoting Tuhaimi.

“Those who own such camels are keeping them and refusing to sell them because they are very expensive and are considered a national wealth.”
