Car flips over into Fujairah valley: Dad dies; Mum, baby, maid in intensive care

A 30-year-old Emirati citizen identified as Tariq Yousef died in a car accident, Emarat Al Youm has reported.

The wife of the victim and their baby boy, just a year-and-a-half old, along with the maid were seriously injured.

The accident occurred on Maliha-Fujairah road.
A police source confirmed that the car flipped over and fell into a valley on the road.

A source in the Al Dhaid hospital in Sharjah confirmed that the victim died on the way to the hospital.

The source added that the wife suffered serious injuries to her head and internal bleeding.
She is in the intensive care unit (ICU) after surgery.

The housemaid broke her back.

The source also confirmed that baby - identified as Abdurrahman-  suffered injuries to different parts of his face and body.  

According to Colonel Khalid Obeid bin Kanon, Acting Director General of Sharjah's Civil Defence of Al Dhaid police station said police and civil defence teams rushed to the site of the accident after receiving the emergency call.

One of the relatives of the family in Fujairah, identified as Umm Nasser, said that the victim hails from the Muraishid area of Fujairah where he works as a corporal in the Fujairah prison.
