Children’s delight as Dubai makes a play for new community yards

Dubai Municipality will start implementing playgrounds for kids that as part of its community development project.

The Dh30 million project will feature innovative and distinguishable amusement areas for children, spread across 10 different residential areas.

Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality, stated the project was part of the emirate’s vision of introducing such creative means to maintain a happy society.

The sophisticated playgrounds will include artificial grass, modern and educational toys for children play with, shaded seating areas, night-lights that will run by the solar power, along with a coloured and innovative fencing around the play area.

These play areas will also meet the requirements for children with special needs with artistic and educational elements brought in.

Earlier this year, Dubai Municipality announced the creation of five parks in residential areas during 2016 at a cost of Dh37 million.

The municipality said this work will be completed by the middle of January 2017.

The municipality indicated that it has identified the residential parks in Al Warqa’a, Al Tawar, Al Mankhool and Muhaisna to make them disabled-friendly.
