Sharjah Police in cooperation with Sharjah Educational Board have launched the program of ‘the culture of security,’ which aims at creating security awareness among school children in the emirate.

Maj. Gen. Hamid Al Hadidi, Director-General of Sharjah Police, said at a press conference that the program will create a generation capable of security cooperation to achieve the main goals based on a community of fewer accidents and crimes in addition to the number of victims.

The press conference was also attended by Aisha Saif, Secretary-General of Sharjah Educational Board. The program will be applied during the current academic year in 21 governmental schools, including 9,000 students at various educational levels.

The program comes after the emergence of some negative phenomena in schools, including dropout education and absenteeism at schools, the prevalence of smoking among some school students, and the weakness of the values of respect for the law and obedience to parents and respect for the teacher.

The program is based on several axis, including the military culture, preventive and security; it also includes raising approaches and motivational calendar and security awareness.

The program, which will be implemented for one hour a week by professional trainers through lectures and cartoon characters, includes 41 articles and is divided according to ages of students and their education levels.
