Pakistan's Intelligence Bureau, IB, Director-General, Aftab Sultan, revealed today that  a network of Daesh has been busted in Pakistan without specifying a place.

The IB Director-General told the Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics in the senate during a briefing, that hundreds of fighters have joined Daesh in Syria and warned that it emerges as a threat to Pakistan as all other militant groups have what he called a 'soft corner' for it, including Lashker-e-Jhangvi , Sipaha-e-Sihaba and the Taliban. Daesh is also exploiting cyber space.

He said that the Taliban was behind major terror incidents in the country and many elements have been arrested. Recently, a terrorist arms depot was destroyed in Tarnol near Islamabad. There were intelligence reports regarding attacks on educational institutions

The Director-General explained that terror incidents have considerably decreased after the launch of the military operations. Terrorists are on the run, he said, but he added that terror incidents cannot be completely averted in the country in the next 10 years.
