Drowned man was on holiday with mistress

A married man who drowned in Dubai was on holiday with his mistress - after telling his family he was in the US on business, it has been claimed.

Father-of-three Martin Hayle, 50, lied to wife Heather, 49, so he could enjoy a week away with 45-year-old divorced blonde Debbie Smith, reports The Sun.

The daily quoted an insider as saying: "Heather genuinely believed that Martin was working in the States.

"It was an appalling double blow. Firstly she was told he was dead - and secondly that he had been in Dubai with another woman."

Super-fit Martin of Stadhampton, Oxon, died after getting into difficulty in choppy waters last Friday.

Heather was too distraught to comment. She told the daily "It's a nightmare. I don't want to go into anything." Her eldest son Daniel, 24, said: "I don't know who he was with but she was a female friend.

"We originally thought it was business but he'd just gone to Dubai for a week."

Businessman Martin died the same day expat Brit Paul Gradon, also 50, drowned off the same coastline near Jumeirah beach.
