However, luck ran out for an astrologer in the southern province of Matara despite diligently observing a routine time of travel to carry out his illegal activity of selling drugs.
According to a report in the Sinhala daily Lankadeepa, Matara Divisional Anti-Narcotics Unit arrested him while he was travelling on a motorcycle to transport drugs in Weligama, Polathumodera area.
Police found 2 grams of heroin in his trouser pocket during the arrest, the report said.
The accused selected an auspicious time to engage in drug dealing to evade the bad period under the astrological chart.
Police investigations revealed he has been carrying out this business for a long time.
The accused had been bailed out by a high court for a previous offence also for selling drugs.
When arrested by police during the latest offence, he has been travelling from Weligama to Mirissa fisheries harbor.
The 42-year old accused had admitted to police that the auspicious time selected has brought him bad luck this time.
