Emaar Properties, Dubai’s largest developer, and Dubai Holding, a global investment holding company, will launch their first residential project in the multi-billion-dollar Dubai Creek Harbor at The Lagoons, a 6.5-million square metre urban district, on November 1.

The two 40-storey residential towers (Tower 1 North and Tower 1 South) will be launched simultaneously in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, London and Moscow with units ranging between 880 and 2,154 square feet.

“Dubai Creek Residences will consist of six towers and will establish its presence at the creek as part of the island development,” according to Emaar website.

The Dubai Creek Harbor at The Lagoons, located alongside Dubai Creek and adjacent to Ras Al Khor, comprises a central business district and a mix of cultural, commercial, technology, educational, healthcare, sporting, entertainment, shopping malls and residential uses, all designed around a series of lagoons and green boulevard.

Emaar Chairman Mohamed Alabbar and Dubai Holding Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Bin Byat will be addressing the media today [Monday] on the new master development, dubbed, ‘the city of the future’.

The Lagoons was originally launched by Dubai Holding in April 2006 and was to have seven islands, interlinked with bridges, that would house residential units, shopping centres, office buildings, and marinas. It was put on hold following the global financial crisis.

Re-launched in October 2013, Emaar and Dubai Holding said that The Lagoons master development will be supported by several sustainable transport modes including a direct link with Dubai Metro’s Red and Green Lines, an eco-tram system, light monorail, and water taxis.

Emaar has signed a memorandum of understanding with Dubai World Central (DWC), the world’s first purpose-built aerotropolis, on developing an integrated urban centre and golf destination in a prime location at Dubai World Central, the home to Expo 2020 and the Al Maktoum International Airport. It is also working with Dubai Municipality to develop a mixed-used beachfront lifestyle development in Al Mamzar.
