Dusty conditions to continue in the UAE

Heavy blankets of dust kicked up by persistent windy conditions over the last few have made life difficult for people living near open desert and sandy areas.

The condition has made driving also difficult, with the visibility level coming down within 2000 metres. Meteorologists have predicted that similar conditions would be prevalent until the end of this week.

National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has reported that the conditions would particularly severe in the eastern and northern regions of the country, high waves and turbulent waves expected in the East Coast.

“The conditions are mostly local now and do not originate from outside the country. It is due to low pressure effects in the South-East of the UAE. Sea waves are reaching five to six feet in height,” a met official was quoted as saying by Khaleej Times.

On Wednesday, the minimum temperature in internal areas of the country ranged from 25 degree Celsius to 30 degree Celsius, while the maximum temperature was between 41 degree Celsius and 46 degree Celsius.

While residents may feel the mercury rising by the day, the official said that the maximum temperature is expected to remain at 41-46 degree Celsius throughout this month.

One may find the days hotter as there is an increase in the moisture level, the official said.
