1 die, 6 hurt in 6 Dubai accidents in 2 days

One person died and six people were injured, four of them seriously, in six road accidents in Dubai over the past two days.

Mohammed Saif Al Zafeen of the General Directorate of Traffic said in the first accident a cleaner working in the left lane of Gulf Road was hit at 7.30am by a car, driven by a woman, coming in the same lane. The moderately injured victim was taken to hospital by ambulance.

The second accident happened on Tuesday evening on Damascus Road in which an Arab national died.

In the third accident at 9pm on Tuesday night, two vehicles collided after one of them crossed a red light at an intersection in Aweer area. One vehicle crashed into a street light pole in the traffic junction. Two people, including the driver of one of the vehicles, were seriously injured.

A three-year-old child was seriously injured in an accident at 10pm on Tuesday in Al Muteena.

Zafeen said children are getting hit by vehicles despite repeated warnings to parents no to allow them to cross the road on their own.

One person was moderately injured in an accident at 2am on Wednesday on Damascus Street.

In another accident at 2.30am on Wednesday in Al Wasl, two vehicles collided, seriously injuring a driver who was taken to hospital.
