117 bikes seized for safety reasons

117 bikes have been confiscated by Sharjah Police within four days as owners were found flouting safety rules, Al Khaleej reports.

This drive is part of Sharjah Police's road safety campaign to ensure road users are strictly abiding by the security rules.

Reckless bikers often pose danger to the lives of other road users and cause serious accidents.

In order to curb such reckless driving police in Sharjah have kicked off the new campaign.

According to Colonel Ahmed Bin Darwish, director of the traffic and Anjad patrolling at Sharjah Police, the traffic department kicked off the new campaign to ensure motorists were strictly abiding by safety rules and not jumping red signals or moving on opposite directions of roads or not using the pedestrian crossing.
