2 die in UAE crashes involving speeding

A 38-year-old Emirati, identified as Ibrahim Hassan, the former goal-keeper of the Al Ahly  handball team, died yesterday in a car accident on the Kalba road near Sharjah.
 
The General Command of Sharjah Police said that the player was driving his Lexus LS 400 coming from Fujairah.
 
The Sharjah Police said because of excessive speed and the victim lost control of the vehicle and then veered off the road and then flipped over, which led to serious injuries and his death. 
 
Sharjah Police patrols, rescue teams and ambulances rushed to the scene.
 
Sharjah Police have appealed to motorists to be cautious when driving, taking into account specific speed limits on roads.

Speeding kills Emirati in Fujairah

An Emirati man was died and his friend is seriously injured after a car accident in Wadi Al-Wurayah, Fujairah, yesterday afternoon, Emarat Al Youm reports.

Brigadier General Mohammad Ahmad bin Ghanim Al-Ka’abi, Fujairah Police Commander-in-Chief told Emarat Al Youm the Fujairah police rushed to the scene and found that the accident was due to the high speed, because of which the driver could not control the car.

He added that the accident seriously injured the driver and killed his friend sitting in the car on the spot.

The injured person is in a hospital in Dibba.
