2 hurt in a 5-car accident on Emirates Road

Two people were injured in an accident between five vehicles on the Emirates Road on Tuesday morning.

Brigadier Saeed Hamad bin Sulaiman, Director of Al Rashidiya Police Station, said police patrols were immediately sent to the accident site in order to transport the injured and facilitate traffic movement.

Two vehicles were badly damaged, Brigadier Saeed said, adding that among the injured was one of the driver of the vehicles.

Colonel Saif Mohair Al Mazroui, Director of the General Department of Traffic, urged drivers to avoid parking vehicles in front of the mosques during Taraweeh and the night prayers.

Cautioning against reckless behavior, he said someone parked a car behind another, resulting in closure of the entire lane.

He revealed that the traffic patrols would not tolerate such violation that affect others, because the road is for everyone.
