2 Indians run over by 4-wheel drive in Ajman

Two pedestrians were run over by a four-wheel drive in Ajman early on Friday morning. Both men from India, died on the spot after they were hit by a Mitsubishi vehicle at around 4am.

The incident occurred at the Hamadiya Main road. Vibin Baby, 27, and Stanly Johnson, 25, both from Trishur in Kerala were employees of the Holiday Group, which manages several facilities including Nalukettu restaurant, the Arabian resort and the Holiday Beach Club in Ajman.

According to Shaju Simon a colleague working in the same company the two had finished work as usual the previous evening. "None of us know what they were doing at 4am out on the street," he said.

"We got to know about the incident only in the morning. We rushed to the hospital, bu the body was already shifted to the morgue. We were told that the men died instantly after the accident,"he added.

Vibin has been living in the UAE for the last four years, while Stanly has been here for the past one year. "We have already informed the family members back home about the accident. The dead bodies will be  flown home at the earliest," said Simon.
