Toyota is warning UAE customers of a faulty spare part in some of its 2012 models and has initiated a service campaign to rectify the fault.

According to Al Futtaim Motors 7,928 units 2012 year model Camry vehicles, and 319 units of 2012 year model Aurion vehicles would require immediate inspection.

Owners of these vehicles are being informed a 45-minute inspection would be mandatory.

In a media statement released on Thursday, Simon Frith, Managing Director of Al Futtaim Motors said “Following communication with Toyota Motor Corporation, we have begun a customer service campaign on 7,928 units 2012 year model Camry vehicles, and 319 units of 2012 year model Aurion vehicles.

Toyota Motor Corporation has informed us that there is a possibility that the fuel hose that connects the main fuel supply line to the engine may have become wrinkled during connector insertion, and in rare cases could result in abnormal wear of the fuel hose.”

The service campaign will start from Sunday, August 12, 2012.

However according to Toyota only a small number of vehicles will require any components to be replaced.

Customers are advised to contact customer care team on 04-2066002 between 8am and 6pm Saturday to Thursday for additional information.

Last week Toyota Toyota Motor Corp said it's recalling thousands of RAV4 SUVs and Lexus HS sedans in the US to fix a suspension problem.

According to the company there could be a possibility of a crash if the rear suspension nuts aren't tightened properly after a wheel alignment, which could result in the arms to rust and separate from the vehicle.

At least 778,000 RAV4 from the 2006 to 2011 model years are involved in the recall. The Lexus sedans are from 2010 only.
