3 die in 5 accidents on Dubai roads

Five accidents in three days have left three people dead and ten injured, according to Dubai Traffic Police.

Colonel Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Acting Director, Dubai Traffic Police, said the accidents happened due to speeding, crossing at a non-pedestrian area and a general lack of focus on the road.

Those killed are of European, Filipina and Arab origin.

In one of the accidents which took place when a vehicle driven by an Arab national swerved, after one of its tyres burst, the vehicle flipped and the driver was killed instantly.

In another accident, which took place behind the Shangri La Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road, a six-vehicle collision resulted in the death of a European.

A vehicle crashed on Hatta road on Friday, leaving two passengers with major injuries.

In a fourth accident, Mazroui said a motorbike flipped over on Al Khail Road towards Abu Dhabi.

In an accident already ready reported on Monday, a Filipina was instantly killed trying to cross Sheikh Zayed Road.
 

Bikers die in collision


Two Asians on a two-wheeler were killed in a collision with on Al Hamra Island in Ras Al Khaimah, last weekend, Al Khaleej reported.

Police said that the accident took place in an interior road behind the Ceramic factory area, where a vehicle which was driven by an Asian man collided with the a bike ridden by two men.
