3 jump from Sharjah balcony to escape 'cruel' husband

A woman, her daughter and mother were injured after they jumped down from their second floor apartment in Sharjah in a bid to escape a physical assault from the husband.

The three women told police that the man had locked them up in the flat and had been beating them for two days before they managed to smash their way to the balcony and jump.

The three were taken to Al Qassimi Hospital, while the police mounted a manhunt for the fleeing husband, Emarat Al Youm daily said.

“The wife told police that her husband had beaten the three of them because of marital problems,” the paper said without mentioning their nationalities or ages.
