Three more Indians including two young women have ended their lives in Sharjah and Ajman last week.

According to social workers handling the cases, the suicides happened in a labour accommodation in Al Nuaimiya, Ajman and in Sharjah.

Surendran, 53, who lived in Al Nuaimiya, was found dead in his accommodation on Friday night. His four roommates were working overtime at night.

Ashraf Thamarasherry, a volunteer who helps to repatriate dead bodies, said the reason for Surendran’s suicide is not yet known and his roommates did not see any reason for him to end his life. He is thought to have hanged himself.

Surendran, a father of two, hailed form Kilimanoor near Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. He worked for a construction company in Ajman and his body was repatriated on Wednesday.

Speaking to Emirates 24|7, Ashraf said two young women living near the Sharjah Clock Tower also ended their lives last week.

“They were two housewives aged 30 and 32. We are trying to send their bodies home. This is in addition to the suicide of Indian businessman and politician Thilakan S Pullani whose dead body is lying in the mortuary of a hospital,” he said.
