3 new parks in Dubai: Is your area getting one?

Dubai Municipality has announced the opening of three new neighbourhood parks in Oud Muteena, Mizhar 1 and Muhaisina 3.

The projects, which will be built at a cost of Dh14.6million, is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2015.

Hussain Nasser Lootah, director general of Dubai Municipality, stated that these steps are towards converting Dubai into a green oasis.

“These projects are a part of our commitment towards providing better services for our citizens, residents and visitors,” he said, adding that the design will provide provisions for people with special needs as well.

He stressed that progress, as Dubai Municipality envisions, is not confined to mere  construction of buildings, but a balanced and comprehensive attempt to blend the architectural designs with nature.

A large play area, tree-roofed sitting areas, walking-tracks and roofed wooden seating areas are some of the facilities that would be available.
Lighting in the park will be powered by solar energy.

Al-Twar 2 park

Built across an area of two-hector, it will house a security office and shopping store. It will have paved walking tracks with roofed seating on either side, and 520-meter running-track along with the warm-up play area. Play areas will be provided for kids aged 2-5 and 6-12 separately. Families will also have separate areas.

Oud Muteena Park

Built on 3.26 hector area, it will have family area, main building, walking track , plaza and  kids area on one-side. On the other part, it will have four football fields, one volley ball court and a 575-meter rubberized running track are provided.

Al-Mizhar 1 Park

The 1.2 hector area project will have different kind of trees and other common facilities including 400-meter long running track around the park.

Al-Muhaisina 3

Built in an area of one hector, it will have a family area, roofed-sitting benches, service building, paved walk-ways, children’s play area, and a medium-sized plaza.
