3-vehicle crash on Al Khail; Sharjah-Dubai jam

A three-vehicle accident has been reported on Al Khail Road, with authorities yet to arrive on the scene at 9.15am.

An eyewitness told Emirates 24|7: “The accident involves a minibus, a coaster [articulated vehicle] and a sedan. Because it has occurred right the turnoff of Exit 20, heading to Al Hadeeqa Street, coupled with broken glass everywhere, there is a major jam in place with rubberneckers making the situation worse.”

Drivers are being cautioned to find an alternative route.

Meanwhile, further down Al Khail Road awaits another jam, near the Arabian Ranches junction, when attempting to connect to Umm Suqeium Road.

A frustrated commuter tweeted: “Massive tailbacks from Motor City/Arabian Ranches down to Al Khail Road; this always happens when people mess with the traffic lights.”

There are also reports of a gridlock at Jumeirah Beach Residence, while the Sharjah-Dubai highway has seen commuters report hour-long delays.
