4 of Emirati family die in Oman crash

Tragedy struck an Emirati family in Oman when they met with an accident on Saturday morning while they were on their way to Salalah.

Three women and a 12-year-old boy of the family as well as their Asian driver lost their lives when the SUV they were travelling in collided with a truck on the highway linking Muscat with Salalah, reported ‘Al Bayan’.

Oman Police sources was quoted as saying that the Emirati family’s vehicle veered off the road. Even though the driver attempted to get it back on track, because of high speed, the car skidded to the opposite side colliding with the truck.

Security forces rushed to site immediately and police helicopter transferred the bodies to a nearby hospital.

Currently, officials are in co-ordination with UAE authorities, the report added.
