4-vehicle accident on SZR near Mall of Emirates

A four-vehicle accident has been reported on Sheikh Zayed Road near the Mall of Emirates towards Dubai, resulting in a major traffic jam.

According to an eyewitness, the accident happened near Exit 39 leading towards Mall of the Emirates and involves two sedans and two small trucks.

“The traffic is moving very slow. There is a long tailback stretching to Dubai Internet City and beyond,” the eyewitness told Emirates 24l7.

“Dubai Police is there on the accident site. One vehicle’s front is badly damaged and the tow-away vehicle is also seen to pick up the damaged vehicle.”

Motorists should take alternative routes in order to avoid traffic jam at this time when a large number of motorists are rushing home for iftar (breaking fast).

Exit 39 generally sees heavy traffic most of the time due to large number of motorists going into the Mall of Emirates and Al Barsha residents returning from Abu Dhabi.
