4-yr-old in fatal accident brought back to life

A four-year-old Emirati boy is alive today thanks to the quick and efficient services provided by the emergency and rescue team of Abu Dhabi Police.

Paramedics resuscitated the child whose heart failed after he was run over by a car in Al Reef.

The child had suffered serious injuries and the team provided medical care in the ambulance while rushing him to Al Rahba Hospital.

They performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation until the boy’s heart began beating and he was breathing again.

Col Mohammed Al Ameri, director of emergency management and public safety of the Directorate General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, said the timely arrival of the ambulance at the accident site helped the medical team to save the child. They immediately administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation.”

He stressed on the importance of quick action by officials in accident cases in order to prevent complications and fatalities.

“We are keen to provide the most advanced services to achieve our strategic goals, in line with the UAE 2020 plan,” Col Ameri added.
