Forty-one absconding housemaids have been arrested from different areas of Dubai, according to the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai.
Of them, 36 are Asians and 5 are Africans. They were nabbed from Hor Al Anz, Al Qouz, Satwa and Jafiliya areas in a three-day campaign by the directorate.
The drive was initiated after authorities received several complaints about runaway maids.
Under the directives of Major-General Mohammad Al Marri, Director-General, Department of Citizenship and Residency, officials tracked down 41 maids after taking their details from their respective sponsors.
