Three Asians have been accused of possessing about 47kgs of hashish. Two Pakistanis and an Afghani brought the drug for trade purpose.

Twenty-one-year-old, worker; MZH, 27, driver; and 50-year-old GBS, worker; are accused of selling hashish to a police informer on October 9, 2010.

Corporal MN, posed as a buyer and laid a trap for the three accused.  On October 9, 2010, ZAK came to Al Satwa area driving a car of the General Anti-Narcotics Department.

In his testimony before the Dubai Criminal Court MN described the entire episode and said: “ZAK sat in the front seat of his car and handed me over a plastic bag which contained a substance which looked like hashish.

It was a sample for me to test. ZAK then made a call to Pakistan and informed that he has handed over a sample to ‘the buyer’".

MN spoke with the overseas trader and showed interest in buying the whole consignment which was 50Kgs of hashish. The trader refused and asked for money in advance. ZAK then asked MN to meet his friend Shafiq Sheikh, a fugitive, for the deal.

Shafiq who has been waiting in the area came to broker the deal. MN proposed them to hand over 5kgs of hashish for Dh30,000 without the knowledge of the overseas trader. ZAK will also benefit from selling the drugs if the overseas trade was not informed.

ZAK agreed to the proposition and went to Sharjah to get the consignment. By evening he arrived at the same location and was arrested red handed while handing over the hashish to the informer.

ZAK confessed that he and Shafiq Sheikh got the drug from an Afghani who stays in Al Ain. They got in touch with the Afghani (GBS) on request of the overseas Pakistani trader.

He confessed hiding the drug in his luggage bag in my accommodation in Sharjah. Police confiscated 41,648Kgs of hashish from his bag.
Shafiq Sheikh, who stays in Al Barsha area in Dubai, is on the run.

GBS was also trapped and arrested in Dubai Lulu Centre, testified Second Lieutenant Mohammed Alslam.

GBS confessed to police that he received 50Kgs of hashish and about 1Kg of heroine during Ramadan. He said that he acted upon the instructions given by a Pakistani who stays in Pakistan, called Abdullah.

“Abdullah called me a few days ago and asked me to hand over only hashish to ZAK who came to Al Ain along with other two people,” he confessed.

Police confiscated the heroin which he was hiding in a labour accommodation in Al Gussais area. GBS received the package from MZH, who lives in Fujairah and was arrested on October 18, 2010.

GBS also confessed that he received another 1 Kg of heroin from a Pakistani called Kareem from Oman. He has already handed over the drug to an African. He did all that as instructed by the overseas Pakistani dealer.

The case has been adjourned to October 25.
