500 exclusive numbers on auction

The Licensing Agency at Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will auction nearly 500 exclusive vehicle number plates on April 29 and will continue for one week.

Number plates of all categories, namely A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, and K will be auctioned online.

Director of Vehicle Licensing, RTA Licensing Agency, Mohammed Abdul Kareem Nimaat, said: “This auction will create an ample opportunity for participants to buy the appropriate number plates since it is the first of its kind to encompass all categories. Moreover, the online auction offers participants the freedom to select appropriate numbers in a handy and clear manner, which is why the four previous online auctions proved successful, attracting numerous participations from different community segments."

“For participating in the 5th online auction, it is incumbent for customers to register in the online auction at any of the licensing centers at Deira, Bur Dubai, the main Customer Service Center and the Unified Services Center, Al Tawar Municipal Center. Customers should register through RTA portal, provided that they have traffic files in the emirate of Dubai. Interested individuals should submit a deposit of Dh5,000 refundable in case no bid is awarded. The deposit can be paid through various means including RTA website (e-payment portal) using a credit card or e-dirham, or through depositing a cheques to the amount of the deposit through the approved Service Center. Interested individuals can also communicate with Customers Service Team through dialing the toll-free number 8009090 for more information,” added Nimaat.

The director stressed that the fourth online auction had made great success and contributed to reinforcing profile of our online auctions, which prompted us to regularly hold such auctions, in keeping with our aspirations in this important area.
