54 killed in UAE road accidents in Q1

Road accidents killed 54 people in the first three months of 2015, a 16 per cent decline over the same period of 2014, when casualties stood at 64.

A police report showed the accidents were caused mainly by speeding, reckless driving, jumping the red lights and sudden change of lane.

The report showed most of the accidents were caused by the 18-30 year age group.
