9-year-old drowns near Al Mamzar beach

A British child, 9, drowned while he was swimming along with his family in the Al Mamzar area of Sharjah, Sharjah Police said.

Sharjah Police’s operations room received a call at 5.30pm on Wednesday evening about the child’s drowning in Sharjah Mamzar lake. Police immediately moved to the site along with ambulance, rescue team and patrols. But when police arrived at the scene, the 9-year-old child had already died as a result of drowning.

Sharjah Police appealed to parents who went to the beaches for swimming to take caution for children left without care expose them to danger and putting their lives at risk.

Sharjah Police urged parents to take care of their children and keep them from risks.

This is a sad story..it was in no way the parents' fault as these kids had always gone to the beach and back.
