Dubai is indeed an epitome of luxury, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a decent day out in the city for less than Dh100.

According to data collected by Expatistan’s Cost of Living Index, a picnic for two will cost you just $22.14 (Dh81.32) in Dubai, a little over half than what it would cost you in the city of love, Paris ($34.02).

Expatistan is a site that offers cost of living comparisons in 2,017 cities based on prices submitted by almost 160,000 users of the site.

The good guys at Expatistan created a custom infographic for Emirates 24|7, comparing costs in the city to those in Abu Dhabi, Doha, Riyadh and Kuwait City. The graphic also looks at five cities outside of the region, including New York, Singapore, London, Paris and Sydney.

In a light-hearted way to look at the costs of food, drinks and transportation, the site used the cost of a picnic to compare the cities (in US dollars).

Of the 10 cities featured, Dubai ranks sixth when it comes to the cost of a picnic at just over Dh80. The city, however, is most expensive in the region, with Riyadh coming out cheapest at $13.94 (Dh51.20).
