Abu Dhabi Municipalities prepare public abattoirs for Eid Al Fitr

Abu Dhabi Municipalities have announced that they have finalised preparations of their public abattoirs in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region for Eid-al-Fitr, which are expecting high demand during the festivities.

The Municipalities reiterated their warnings to the public against carrying out any slaughter in private homes, residential areas or any other locations, to preserve public health and safety, curb the spread of diseases, and maintain the aesthetic appearance of the city.

The government body also said that the public should only utilise public abattoirs, which carry out regular veterinary checks and follow health and safety guidelines to protect against diseases. Authorities also warned against dealing with unlicensed butchers.

Abattoirs in Abu Dhabi port, Al Shahama and Baniyas, will be open from 06:00 until 18:00 during Eid, while in Al Wathba, the facility will open from 08:00 to 16:00 in order to meet the needs of the public and the growing demand during this period.
