"The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City has recently completed several initiatives aimed at raising the traffic safety levels, and serving the United Nations' ten-Year Traffic Safety Plan 2011-2020, which we have already reviewed with them through communication between the organization and the Municipality. These important initiatives include, inter alia, the preparation of Traffic Safety Audit Manual for road projects in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Speed Reduction Manual, and Traffic Diversions Works Manual, besides continuously updating the roads design manuals to improve the traffic safety standards in accordance with the best international practices," continued Al Shamsi.

It will also step up efforts to proceed with the preparation of a plan to raise traffic safety in school zones," concluded Al Shamsi.
