Abu Dhabi Police's Air Wing rescues 3 fishermen

Abu Dhabi Police's Air Wing has recued three fishermen, one of them is an Emirati sailor, when their fishing boat broke down at sea 15 nautical miles off Al Taweelah district coast amid bad weather conditions.

Despite bad weather conditions, the police chopper accomplished the rescue operation in less than an hour.

Staff Brig. Pilot Ali Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Director of the Air Wing at Abu Dhabi Police said the Police had received a relief call, saying three people; Emirati, an Arab and an Asian had had their boat broken down at sea due to rough weather. Based on the report, the rescue chopper immediately left Al Bateen base to rescue the three men.

He added that there had been difficulty in determining the coordinates of site of the fishing boat, but after strenuous efforts the Air Wing rescue team managed to rescue the three fishermen.

Al Mazrouei urged the seafarers to inform competent authorities about their departure and return timings, destination, and must have the safety and security devices along with them in such trips.
